• Please complete the Duke University Hospital Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Residency Application.
• Write a Personal Statement describing your interest in child and adolescent psychiatry and plans for future professional work. This statement should not be more than 1,000 words, and should be submitted with your Application. 
• Complete the Attestations page and return with Application.
•  Include with Application an updated Curriculum Vita. Please describe any lapses of more than one month in training, if applicable.
• Please have the Training Documentation Form completed by your Program Director and sent directly to Adrian Angold, M.D.   Please have the Program Director sign across back flap of envelope.
• Request a minimum of three letters of reference (including Program Director) and Medical School Program Evaluation/Dean’s Letter. These should be sent directly to Adrian Angold, M.D., Program Training Director. Please have references sign across back flap of envelope.

Question: Can I apply early to the DCAP program?
Answer: Only Duke General Psychiatry Residents may apply early before the match.

Question: Do you give preference to the Duke General Psychiatry residents?
Answer: Yes. The child and adolescent psychiatry residency is closely integrated with the general adult program to allow maximum flexibility for those who want to start their child psychiatry training early.

Question: Do you participate in the Match?
Answer: Yes when we have a unfilled position.

Question: Do you support Global Mental Health career goals?
Answer: Yes. We customize the adult and child residencies to permit participation in the Global Mental Health Program. This program would add an additional two years to the training for a 7 year track.

Question: Are there research opportunities within the child training program?
Answer: Yes. There are a variety of research opportunities in different areas including clinical drug trials, developmental epidemiology, trauma, and ADHD.
