Academic Half-Day
We take great pride in our curriculum at Duke! In addition to clinical learning and a diverse educational experience in direct patient care, we have worked over the last decade to create a protected learning environment for resident trainees during Thursday morning Academic Half-Day activities. The Academic Half-Day curriculum includes instruction on topics including:
- Evidence-Based Medicine [2]
- Psychotherapy [2]
- Diagnostic Interviewing [2]
- Community Psychiatry [2]
- Psychiatry and the Law [2]
- History of Psychiatry [2]
- Biological Psychiatry [2]
- Psychodynamic Psychotherapy [2]
- Developmental Psychiatry [2]
- Advanced Topics [2]
An active Curriculum Oversight Committee meets on a monthly basis in order to continuously improve and maintain high-quality educational activities throughout the course of the four-year general Psychiatry training program [3].
